What is mobile computing?



In our daily activities, we frequently use computers and cell phones to do various things. We often use computers to type letters in our offices or probably use mobile phones to make calls. Of course you will agree that this is not exhaustive. But what actually is behind this technology that has transformed mankind?
Meaning of Mobile Computing
Mobile computing is an "industry neutral name" depicting the capability to use technology while moving. It’s obviously derived from the two words mobile phone and computer. It therefore implies that mobile computing involves using phone or enabling cell phones to have the capability of a computer.
From the above meaning, it can be safely concluded that mobile computing involves practically using mobile phones as computers.
Since the inception of the computing community in the 1990's, the industry or technology has been improving to get the best for consumers. Mobile computers we have in the industry include:
Types of mobile computers
Personal digital assistant (PDA)
Enterprise digital assistant (EDA)
Smart phones
Wearable computers
